Be firm

Had read the book "The Firm" by John Grisham almost 15 years ago. Watched the movie based on the book yesterday, courtesy Zee Studio. The book/movie is about a young ambitious man with a promising future in law. About to sit his Bar exam, he is approached by a firm who makes him an offer he doesn't refuse. Seduced by the money and gifts showered on him, he is totally oblivious to the more sinister side of his company. Then, two Associates are murdered. The FBI contact him, asking him for information and suddenly his life is ruined. He has a choice - work with the FBI or stay with the Firm. Either way he will lose his life as he knows it. Mitch figures the only way out is to follow his own plan...

I guess that's true for most of us. At various cross roads in life, both professionally and personally we are forced to think/ act in directions to fall in with the "plans" or "thought processes" made by others (it may be your family/friends/colleagues...etc.) If these plans are in line with your own plans/ thought process, then its a win win situation for everyone. But what if they clash?? Many of us at various phases in our life fall in line "with the plans/thought processes" of others and later on, feel trapped..I guess the only way out should be to follow our own plans/ decisions. Might not be possible to follow always at work place for more reasons then one, but atleast personally. They may not be the best plans/ best decisions, you may make mistakes in the process, but at the end of the day, you will emerge wiser, stronger and happier :)

As they say, "You need to lead your life, not let life lead you!!"

About professionally and personally, though u r right that profession takes most of the time in our life, but I personally feel what u r as a person is more important then what you achieve professionally...
