Spirit triumphs :)))

Yesterday while switching channels...came across a reality show where a handicapped participant (he had no legs) was dancing....was bowled over by his energy, his enthusiasm, his speed and best of all; his positivity. He entered with a big smile, smiled throughout and he brought in a lot of positivity on the stage. The best part is that when he was asked to request audience for votes, he said that " Please vote if you liked my performance- don’t vote looking at me..coz i dont think that I am lesser than anyone " I felt like getting up and clapping to salute his willpower and spirit!
It sounds very bookish when ppl say..."be positive" or "keep ur spirits up" or "a smile can fix anything" , "look at opportunity in adverity"...Normal reaction to such statements is like “ok...good to hear and nice to know but then what!!" But this guy was like a live example to all this and much more. I don’t think that ppl like us who are blessed with good health, decent education and jobs, love of family and friends and much more have any right to crib. What do we crib about?? That we have to work extra hrs at our work place or that we have difficult bosses?? Atleast we have a job! Look at the unemployed ppl around u. Don’t forget that the "sad job" keeps your worries away from your monthly rentals and the other necessities or luxuries of life. We crib about our difficult parents/ spouses/kids...you are lucky that you have them !! They can exasperate you sometimes, but families are the roots which provide u the necessary nourishment.
That participant helped me decide that I’m not going to crib for the inane elements in my life. (Not that I do much but sometimes the weather or the unimportant people at work/otherwise do get on my nerves sometimes BUT I will check myself). Friends /Family who r reading this blog..If you still catch me cribbing, please REMIND ME not to!!

ok, I will remind you!

But you have to do that in turn.

However, as you noted, I currently have a basic right to crib now n then.
